Spend the Day exploring and experimenting with natural colours and forms from Plants.

Using a heat press to revolutionize aspects of Botanical Printing. Using Heat and moisture with direct contact, provides the perfect environment for each of the key components.

Using the Heat Press is easy to adapt and provides the perfect tool. The use of consistent pressure and the lure of Eco dyeing and Eco printing and the creative process.

The plants are grown in my Dye garden at home or foraged locally. Search for hidden colours, form and textures. Eco dying and eco printing is about direct printing methods, using natural pigments to make interesting and often surprising marks. While traditional dye and Eco practises provide indispensable information. Not every colour is available..

Plants reveals itself in a traditional immersion dye pot, and the results vary according to many conditions and plant seasons. plant parts used, the processing time and fibre type, mordants and processing methods.

Eco printing aim to use traditional dye plants in both old and new and some you might not have thought about.

In the morning you will experiment with mother nature. Learn about the different mordants. What they are, and how they effect your printing out comes. Using mordants to help process and extract colour from the plants available or bring some of your own. printing on paper and different materials and fibres.

After lunch you will spend time adding decorative stitches to make your art work stand out from the rest. Make into a concertina book and be able to continuously add stitches as and when.

All materials are provided and refreshments. Lunch is not provided.
